Jaime Chang, MD, MS
Jaime Chang, MD, works to advance patient health and safety and increase clinician work satisfaction through better informatics support of clinical activities. His current activities focus on knowledge management, decision support, and workflow support in a locally developed electronic health record (EHR) system used by multiple outpatient practices at Mass General.
In addition to his work with the Laboratory of Computer Science, Dr. Chang has cared for patients in the MGH Medical Walk-In Unit since 2003 and has served as a locum physician in the MGH Internal Medicine Associates primary care practice. His clinical roles inform and inspire his informatics work, helping him understand the everyday obstacles to good patient care, as well as the opportunities and limitations in trying to overcome these obstacles with technological solutions.
Dr. Chang earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and obtained a master’s degree in biomedical informatics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was a medical informatics fellow with the MGH Laboratory of Computer Science. He holds faculty appointments at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
